What the Critics Say
This is a live album recorded in 1976, featuring Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Maria Bethânia, and Gal Costa on their joint Doces Bárbaros tour. None of the live versions here really exceed the studio versions of the same songs found on other albums by the respective artists. However, one song that does stand out is "Pássaro Proibido," written and magnificently performed here by Veloso. The quality of the sound is quite good compared to many other live recordings, but all four artists have released better and more interesting live albums on their own. ~ Philip Jandovský, Rovi
