What the Critics Say
Michael Peterson's second album of amiable, if ordinary, country once again points up his good-natured character and even better-natured songs of easy, rural livin'. It all seems a little quaint, as well as repetitive, but Peterson, who co-wrote most of the songs here, walks into each with jolly optimism, making even the corniest touches -- like the backing choir on the title tune -- seem genuinely heartfelt. Nineties country rarely gets this giddy, and Peterson (unlike many of his contemporaries) has no pop ambitions; this is down-home music for down-home folks who relish their days off, especially lazy Sundays shared with family and friends over a sumptuous supper. Being Human makes a fine side dish. ~ Michael Gallucci, All Music Guide
