Baby Boy is one of the hottest tracks on Beyonce's debut solo record. Featuring dancehall megastar Sean Paul, it bounces in a sweaty funk and has one of her steamiest vocals. This UK single includes the album mix of Baby Boy plus a Junior Vasquez remix that removes any traces of dancehall and sends the song straight to the dance floor. Squelchy synths, pounding 4/4 beats and somewhat corny House clich�s strip most of the sex and steam out of the song and replace it with nine minutes of blah. The disc also has a remix of Krazy in Luv by Adam 12 that ditches the amazing Chi-Lites sample that the original is built on and adds some circular guitar loops and claustrophobic synths. It is a decent remix, gloomy and somewhat menacing, but comes nowhere close to the Technicolor brilliance of the original. Stick to the originals. ~ Tim Sendra , All Music Guide
