This collector's LP contains music privately recorded at two live engagements in 1951 that feature the great guitarist Django Reinhardt just two years before his death. Performing with a quintet and a sextet that also includes altoist Hubert Fol and sometimes trumpeter Bernard Hulin, Reinhardt is in fine form on the mixture of standards and originals, playing in a boppish style that shows that he was continuing to evolve. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
