What the Critics Say
The three-CD box set Ashes To Diamonds at least closes the chapter neatly on the heartland rocker's Red Rider period. The set includes one track from Cochrane's obscure 1974 solo release, then chronicles the various Red Rider albums, from 1980's Don't Fight It to 1988's Victory Day. Only one track (the hit "Life Is A Highway") appears from his current Mad Mad World solo phase. The emphasis on demo versions, live tracks, previously unreleased material and radio sessions makes this collection more interesting for die-hard fans than for newcomers looking for an easy primer. ~ Roch Parisien, All Music Guide
