What the Critics Say
This is a budget-priced, Australian, two-disc set combines Art Garfunkel's 1973 debut solo album, Angel Clare, with his 1980 career retrospective, Up 'Til Now. Despite the duplication of one track, this is a pretty sensible combination, providing Garfunkel's first definitive solo statement alongside an overview of his career before and after, and linking that highly successful debut album with one of his most undeservedly overlooked releases, Up 'Til Now. There are no notes to speak of, or even any credits, making the packaging less choice in some ways than the original -- just two CDs in a wide, double box with front and back cover information. There's also no mastering information, but the sound on both discs is unusually good compared with Sony's usual domestic, unremastered CD standards, which could simply be a function of Sony's Australian operation originally taking good care in their CD transfers. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
