What the Critics Say

This instrumental guitar album directed by Mark White, a Richmond "pink back," also belongs to the category of "stereo action" demonstration LPs. The playing is frenetic, and with all those guitars racing back and forth between the channels, it is dizzying at times. "Night Train" and "Cherry Pink" are particularly strong. The latter cleverly begins with a steel guitar intro instead of the famous diving trumpet of the Perez Prado version. There is a guitar album in RCA's Stereo Action series, but this one is much better. Fans of Billy Mure and Buddy Merrill will want it especially. ~ Tony Wilds, All Music Guide
